VizPak SSS Collection

Save yourself hours of endless tweaking

VizPak SSS Collection is a unique material library focused solely on those tricky translucent materials that can be so difficult to create. Finding exactly the right settings to create believable translucency can be very time-consuming, especially as the settings are often obscure and poorly documented.

With VizPak SSS Collection you get a complete library of 50 common translucent materials that will save you hours of time and effort - just drag-and-drop them into your projects. And if you don't find exactly what you need you can always use one of the existing presets as a great starting point for creating your own variations and custom materials.

The collection includes a mixture of man-made and natural materials, ranging from plastics and rubbers to foods and natural stones and gems.

A lot of research has gone into recreating the physical properties of each material so that you can use them in your projects with confidence, knowing that they will react believably in real-world lighting setups.

The Modo collection comes in two versions: one which uses Modo's Physical shading model to cater for those of you using older version of Modo (the materials work with Modo 901 and up). The second version of the collection uses Modo's newer Principled shading model and is optimised for use with Modo's new MPath renderer (the Principled shaders also work flawlessly with the default render engine though). Both collections are included in every purchase.

Using the Principled shaders with the MPath renderer will give the best results, and the most believable SSS, rivalling any other render engine on the market.

The shaders have also been recreated from scratch to work with Vray and Octane in Modo, using these third-party render engines to their full potential. Creating SSS materials in Vray and Octane can be very time-consuming, especially if you aren't familiar with the nodal setups that are required to get the best results. In Vray this means creating a Mix material and plugging in separate nodes for translucency and for transparency, and taking great care to ensure that the presets work on both CPU and GPU. In Octane the materials make use of volumetric scattering for enhanced realism.

So if you are looking for a winning combination of ease-of-use and realism VizPak SSS Collection will make your life easier and save you time.
