Modular Texture Pack

Seamless maps for any application

The Modular Texture Pack is a set of roughness, bump, and normal maps that can be used in any 3D (or even 2D) application. These textures were created with the specific aim of speeding up the creation and application of subtle real-world effects such as wear, scratches, corrosion, dirt, or smudges.

Creating believable textures that simulate real-world wear-and-tear can be time-consuming, so this set of assets can save an enormous amount of time and effort by providing textures that can be applied quickly to create believable effects.

I created these textures to speed up my own workflow, and hopefully they can speed yours up too. My aim was to create maps that when applied to a material will create the subtle micro-details that are the key to photorealism. In use the maps should be barely perceptible (adjust the opacity if it's too strong!) so that they create the feeling of real-world wear - they add an almost imperceptible something to the material, but turn them off and suddenly your shading feels a lot less real.

There are multiple categories of textures included (hence the term "modular") and you can stack textures together to create additional complexity in your shading.

So whenever you need to create some subtle dirt, or streaks, or micro-scratches (very effective on plastic and metal), brushed metal, dirty windows, smudged glass, or subtle wear - the Modular Texture Pack can help.

All of the included textures can be seamlessly tiled and are at 4k resolution. There are 72 maps in total, and in the Modo version there are also 47 custom presets (but all the individual maps are also included of course).

There are two versions of the pack available: one which is for use with any application, and a second that is tailor-made for Modo and installs as a kit with a Preset Browser. All purchases will unlock both versions.
