Light the Fire, Let it Burn
What gets you up in the morning, excited about the new day? What gets your mind racing, eager to discover the next chapter?
For me, it's always been learning. One way or another, I'm always learning something new. Some fresh interest to feed my ever-curious mind.
I think most creative people are made this way. I'm guessing you are too. Always curious, always interested in something.
It's what makes life exciting, and drives us forward. It's fun and intoxicating. The appetite for discovery, always hungry, never satiated.
Creative and curious people love operating at the very limits of their knowledge, touching the edge, just trying to reach beyond. Right where the water starts to get deep and you lose your footing - that's where the magic happens.
Conversely, when you are just treading water, where it's safe and everything is known - that's where you are most likely to be bored, disengaged, and apathetic.
Why? Because you need to be curious and hungry to feel motivated. Curiosity feeds on the new. That's why you operate best at the limits of your knowledge, because you're stretching out into the unknown, just grasping it.
So you need to feed the fire. Curiosity is the fuel, and the more you feed it, the more satisfying life will be.
Let that fire roar.
